Welcome Back!

We are so excited to welcome our students and families back to MoCo Arts. It’s been very quiet here without you! And though we are anxious to open our doors, we know we must be patient and take things one step at a time. Here’s a breakdown of how we’re going about this and what you can expect over the next few months.

Summer Classes

Due to the restrictions still in place with regards to gathering sizes, we will begin the summer semester live-streaming classes through the Webex platform. As the summer progresses and permitted gathering sizes increase, we hope to be able to transition to in-person classes. If and when we are able to hold classes at MoCo Arts this summer, there will likely be some adjustments to our class schedule to allow additional time to adequately disinfect each studio between classes.

To begin the semester, students will receive an email with a link to their class(es) prior to the first day of class.

Pro Tip: The link(s) will be the same for the entire semester so be sure to save this email as you will need it to access your class(es) each week!

The email will also contain a meeting (class) ID and a password. From the MoCo Arts Webex homepage, you can enter your meeting (class) ID and password to enter your class. Click the link in the email invitation.

When we are able to reopen for in-person classes, students, families, and MoCo Arts staff will be required to follow a series of guidelines that we’ve laid out in our 2020 Summer Programs Family Handbook. More on that in a moment… read on to learn about our plans for Summer Camps.

You’ll find the current Summer Class schedule here. Classes begin June 22!

Creative Arts at KEene Summer Camp

Try as we might we simply could not come up with a way to host our C.A.K.E. Summer Camp here at MoCo Arts. With anticipated restrictions on gathering sizes lasting through the summer, we knew there was no way to recreate this kind of creative arts camp experience in-person. With this in mind, our amazing C.A.K.E. staff went to work to come up with a brand new format our award-winning summer camp.

Introducing Virtual C.A.K.E.! Though it may sound a little strange, (an ONLINE summer camp??) we assure you it will be an experience you won’t soon forget. With more than 50 unique classes to choose from and a whole lot of imagineering, we’ve come up with a program that we know you’re going to love. In fact, check out this video and hear directly from the C.A.K.E. teachers as they talk about the classes their teaching and why you do not want to miss this!

Spoiler alert – they’re all REALLY excited!!

Check out the 2020 Virtual C.A.K.E. class schedule and find registration information here. Week 1 begins on July 6!

CupCAKE Summer Camp

We are SO excited to welcome campers back to MoCo Arts this summer! CupCAKE will be taking place in-person at MoCo, with a few changes… we’ve implemented several new safety protocols to ensure that we are in compliance with all applicable guidelines put forth by the State of New Hampshire with regards to COVID-19. And we’ve put together a handbook that explains all of them so you know just what to expect when you come to camp.

In short, physical distancing and the use of masks by staff will be in place. Staggered arrivals and drive-through pick-ups, as well as carefully planned traffic patterns in the building, will minimize camper contact. Daily monitoring of staff and campers will be implemented to check for symptoms and assess the risk of exposure. And we have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures to ensure that the building is thoroughly disinfected each day.

All parents and/or legal guardians of our students are required to read the 2020 Summer Programs Family Handbook in its entirety prior to returning to campus. In addition, each member of the MoCo community must sign a Waiver before a student can return to campus.

With the new protocols in place, we will have reduced capacity for CupCAKE this year so be sure to register soon and save your spot! Week 1 begins on June 29.

A GRAND Reopening

Things are definitely looking up. We cannot WAIT to welcome our CupCAKE campers back to MoCo this summer! And for our dance students getting ready for summer classes and our older campers looking forward to C.A.K.E. we hope you’ll enjoy the online classes and give Virtual C.A.K.E. a whirl. We look forward to “seeing” you all very soon!
