MoCo Prepares to Reopen for Fall Classes

After several months of quiet studios and empty halls following the shut-down in March when the state of NH implemented their first stay-at-home order amidst concerns around COVID-19, MoCo Arts is gearing up to welcome students back for in-person dance and theatre classes this fall!

We spent the summer developing our reopening plans which include implementing several safety protocols designed to keep students safe and healthy. And we had the chance to test these plans during CupCAKE summer camp which happened in-person at MoCo in July and August.

After months of live-streaming classes online, we’re really excited to bring students back to the studio. But before you return, there are a few things you’ll need to know.

Safety First!

MoCo published a handbook for families which includes a detailed explanation of the measures we’ve put into place to ensure student safety. It also includes a waiver that parents or guardians will be required to sign if their child will be attending classes in-person.

If your child is ready to come back to the studio, please read through the handbook carefully, and review it with your child so you know what to expect when you arrive at MoCo for class. We’ve implemented several new safety protocols which include screening before entry, wearing masks, and new traffic patterns within the building to minimize contact between students.

You have options.

If you or your child aren’t quite ready to come back, that’s OK! There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world today and everyone’s situation is different. That’s why we’ll be continuing to offer live-streamed classes during the fall semester as well.

So if you aren’t able to join us in person this fall, you are welcome to join us online. And you don’t have to stick to one or the other for the entire semester. We’ll take it one class at a time.

Time to register!

MoCo offers Monadnock area children a unique opportunity to explore the performing arts in a state-of-the-art facility on Roxbury Street in Keene. We offer a wide range of dance and theatre classes, as well as creative arts day camps during the summer and school vacation weeks for children of all ages and abilities.

Here’s a fun fact. Did you know MoCo Arts awards over $79,000 in financial assistance every year? In fact, we’ve never turned a student away because they were unable to pay the tuition. We’ll find ways to work with you to make sure your child has the opportunity to experience the sheer joy that comes from learning to dance or from finding your voice in one of our theatre classes. It can be truly lifechanging!

If you’re curious about our tuition assistance program, you can read more here. It’s easy to apply, and you could save up to 70% on your registration fees!

The fall semester at MoCo Arts begins on Monday, August 31st. The class schedule can be found here. For more information, or to register, give us a call at (603) 357-2100 or send an email with your inquiry to info@moco.org.
