The Stage is Set for MoCo’s 8th Annual Fundraising Spectacular

We’re just weeks away from MoCo’s biggest and best fundraising event of the year – LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! The popular event is set to take place on Saturday, October 26th at MoCo Arts, 40 Roxbury Street in vibrant downtown Keene, NH. With a hilarious sketch comedy performance featuring local business and community leaders, dynamic live and silent auctions, delectable dishes by Kristin’s Bakery, artisanal drinks by Machina Arts, music, dancing and more, LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! has become one of the most highly anticipated charitable events in the region. Proceeds from the event benefit tuition assistance and year-round arts education programs at MoCo Arts. In fact, the event is the primary reason that MoCo Arts is able to offer over $70,000 in tuition assistance and provide high-quality arts education to over 3200 children each year.

Some of the Silent Auction items from LCK! 2018

The LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! Creative Team is busy putting together a spectacular show. Our theme this year, keeping with the season, is “A Nightmare on Roxbury Street.” But don’t let the name spook you. We’re embracing the whole “Halloween” thing this year. But believe us… this is more about the laughs than the chills. The performance is always a highlight of the evening, and this year is looking like it’s going to be the funniest yet! Part of the charm is that the performers are not… well, performers! The show is hilarious not only because of the brilliant writing, but because the stars of the show are local business and community leaders that are willingly getting up on stage and out of their comfort zones to support the kids and the arts. We love them for that.

Mayor Kendall Lane as “The Streak” at LCK! 2018

Rumor has it that one of the skits this year is going to feature a few very familiar faces… Unless you’ve been completely ignoring Keene’s mayoral race, you’ll recognize these guys. If you were here for LCK! last year you may remember this scene. Recognize the “streaker” in the back? That’s right… he’ll be here again this year only this time with two of his potential successors. We’ll just leave it there… we don’t want to give away too much. Suffice it to say this is going to be very interesting.

The Studs in all their glory, LCK! 2018

Another familiar crew will be making their way back to the stage again this year. The Studs are at it again with a brand-new show that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. The saga continues… and there’s no doubt they’ve got some surprises in store. In fact, they may be taking this Halloween thing to a whole new level. Hey, it’s all for the kids. Humiliation fades, but the impact MoCo makes on the lives of the children in this community continues indefinitely. Yup. This is going to be great.

Machina Arts will be back this year with their mobile bar

In the spirit of Halloween, this year we’ll be hosting a COSTUME CONTEST! Get creative and come wearing your silliest, spookiest or craziest get up and enter to win a $50 gift certificate to Machina Kitchen & ArtBar. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

The kids are the REAL stars at MoCo Arts!

LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! is a unique fundraiser filled with laughter, fun and a shared desire to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to experience the joy of growing in the arts. MoCo has never had to turn away a student because of his or her family’s inability to pay their tuition. And we don’t plan on changing that. With the continued support of this great community, and the passionate dedication of our amazing teachers, staff, and board, we’ll be here to provide high-quality arts education opportunities to all children in our community for many, many years to come.

We’re excited to have Kristin’s Bakery catering LCK! again this year

Tickets to LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! are $75 and are available now at MoCo Arts, 40 Roxbury Street in Keene, or by calling (603) 357-2100. Your ticket includes 2 free drinks, gourmet food, a hilarious sketch comedy performance, dynamic live and silent auctions, cash bar, music, dancing and much, much more. We hope you’ll join us on October 26th and show your support for the kids and the arts, while enjoying a wonderful evening out with friends. It’ll definitely be a night to remember!
