August 28, 4:30 – 6:30 at 40 Roxbury Street, Keene

MoCo Arts is pleased to announce a fall opening of the brand new arts education facility in downtown Keene. Join MoCo students, families, friends, board, community leaders and elected officials to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting and Open House on Tuesday, August 28 from 4:30 – 6:30pm at 40 Roxbury Street, Keene. All are invited to attend. There is no need to RSVP. Guests are able to come and go as their schedule allows. Please call MoCo Arts with any questions 603-357-2100.

The community celebration begins at 4:30pm with a ceremonial ribbon cutting outside the building. Immediately following, guests are invited in for the first view of the new studios, to talk with staff, and sit in the new dedicated black box space, The Founder’s Theatre. MoCo teachers will be available to meet new and returning students, allowing all to experience the space that will soon educate numerous Monadnock Region students each year.

Located on the site of the former YMCA, the new 17,000 sq ft building has 3 full sized studios, a dedicated black box theatre, some onsite parking, and safe off street drop-off and pick-up.

“I’m excited to be in MoCo’s new building with the people that I love and doing something that I love,” says Eliza Holmes, a longtime MoCo student and Junior at Keene High School. “I have grown up at the Railroad Street building, so it’s exciting to see the new building where younger generations will get the same experience I did, in a new structure that is perfect for the arts.”

Thanks to the tremendous support of this project from so many individuals, foundations and businesses in the community, the new building is opening just one year after construction started in September 2017. Fundraising for the $5 million MoCo Moves: Building MoCo Arts’ Future Capital Campaign began in 2016. To date, $4.95 million has been raised. To help complete the last 1% of the fundraising, visit MoCo Arts, 76 Railroad Street, Keene, NH 03431, call 603-357-2100 or go online at www.move.moco.org. Thank you to everyone who has already given to this campaign, we are so very grateful.

After 25 wonderful years in our current home on Railroad Street it is time to move forward on this new adventure. We are excited to share this momentous occasion, celebrating the kids, the arts, and the community!

“I have been coming to MoCo since I was two years old,” says Holmes. “I’ve grown up with MoCo and made great friends. I know the new building will offer that experience to so many kids.”
