Everyone at MoCo has been busy gearing up for our popular fundraiser, LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! set to take place on Saturday, October 27th. And this year, for the first time, the event is going to be held ENTIRELY in their new home at 40 Roxbury Street in Keene.
LCK! is a unique fundraiser that includes hilarious sketch comedy starring members of the community, as well as dynamic silent and live auctions, food, drink, merriment and more. This year, the performance will have an “Academy Awards” theme, with skits like Oscar Rejects, Memorable Oscar Speeches, The Golden Girls (Super Seniors) and the comedic antics of our own Dancing with the Studs. With more than a few surprises, this will be a night to remember.
The auctions are sizing up to be pretty amazing too! We’ve got some exciting items this year, all generously donated by local businesses, artists, organizations and community members. The live auction will include a trip for two to Iceland with small group travel experts Discover Europe, two tickets to the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, a professional portrait session with Steve Holmes Photography, a custom recliner from Ann Henderson Interiors, a personal dinner for 10 cooked by Chef Luca Paris and MoCo Arts Executive Director Reagan Messer, and more. Or you can plan to place your bid on some equally incredible silent auction items like a massage from Deep Roots, screened loam from Northeast Soils, a gift certificate from Budget Blinds, tickets to a 2019 Peterborough Players summer show, and much more.
Proceeds from the event benefit tuition assistance and year-round arts education programs at MoCo Arts. In fact, LIGHTS. CAMERA. KEENE! is the primary reason that MoCo is able to award over $70,000 in tuition assistance each year. This fundraiser gives us the ability to transform the lives of children in our community, and to break down the barriers that may otherwise prevent some of them from experiencing all of the wonderful programs that MoCo has to offer.
