Explore the Arts at MoCo During School Vacation

We may be the only ones, but it seems like the school year has just begun. And yet here we are, getting ready for February Vacation! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun. With that in mind, you may be scrambling to find something for your school-aged child to do during their well-deserved break from school. Most of us want, or even need to find something fun and engaging for them to do. Enter the multi-arts School Vacation Camps at MoCo Arts. MoCo’s vacation camps are the perfect way for children to grow in the arts over February and April school vacation weeks. Campers dance, act, sing, and create fine arts projects, all built around a central theme. Best of all, they have FUN while exploring the arts and forging new friendships. Each week of camp ends with a mini-musical theatre performance on Friday afternoon (friends and families are invited!) where the children will have the opportunity to showcase their work.

April Vacation Camp runs from April 22nd through 26thApril’s camp theme is Fantastic Creatures… and Where to Find Them. During this week of camp, the worlds of wizards, muggles and performing artists collide as we sing, dance and act in a musical theatre production all about the care of magical creatures. Unicorns, gryphons, nifflers and pixies will fill the stage as we tap into our imaginations and create a really fun show that will be performed on Friday afternoon. In addition to performing, campers at this day camp in downtown Keene will also join in games, crafts, and other creative activities.

Both vacation camps will take place at MoCo Arts’ new arts education facility at 40 Roxbury Street in Keene. The cost is $219 per week. As with all MoCo classes and camps, tuition assistance is available. Vacation Camps are open to kids ages 4 years through 6thgrade and run from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm each day. Of course, we know that most of us need to be to work before 9:00 am. That’s why campers can arrive as early as 8:00 am. We also have extended care available until 5:00 pm Monday – Thursday for just $12 per day.
