“You are about to enter a world that may seem vaguely familiar. Like you are reliving a book and movie franchise with an estimated net worth of $25 billion but it feels slightly… off.” says Director Laura Carbonneau, “You might think “hey, I know these characters!” But you would be wrong. It’s definitely NOT about THAT magic school and THAT special boy.”

For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. This clever and inventive play will keep you laughing through the whole performance, giving you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers who are so lovable and relatable. Their grand journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.

“What does it mean to be a Puff? Puffs are loyal, kind, and hardworking. They accept each other for who they are and always choose to do what is right.” states Laura. Students have worked hard all semester to produce an epic, laugh worthy performance for their audiences. Attempting British accents, exploring wild characters and learning about live comedy, this is a performance you don’t want to miss.

MoCo Arts’ award-winning theatre program, for kids and teens in grades 2 through 12, offers classes in musical theatre, straight plays, improvisation workshops and more. Each Musical Theatre class rehearses once a week, working together to perform in a fully produced musical. All students are cast in a role and are encouraged (but not required) to practice and audition for specific roles. Students then work together with the director’s learning elements of acting, singing, and dancing to put on the production. Tuition assistance is available for all classes and camps at MoCo Arts.
