“When deciding what show to do this first semester, our production team wanted to put on a classic. We wanted to expose our actors to more than just the modern musicals they may listen to on a regular Wednesday afternoon.” says Laura Carbonneau, MoCo’s Artistic Director of Theatre. “Guys & Dolls is a quintessential musical chestnut that we knew this group would thrive in performing and come to love.”

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls JR. follows Salvation Army crusaders and high rollers from the streets of Times Square to Havana and back again. Nathan Detroit, who is permanently engaged to psychosomatic showgirl Miss Adelaide, may be forced to fold Detroit’s Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game unless he wins a bet from slick high roller Sky Masterson. When Sky gambles that he can woo any “doll” Nathan counters that Sky will not be able to convince an upright missionary named Sarah to go to Havana with him. At first, Sarah easily resists the dashing Sky, but eventually, both Sky and Sarah teach each other a lesson on winning. Guys & Dolls JR. is filled with many beloved characters and features popular songs like, “A Bushel and a Peck” and “Marry the Man Today”.
