MoCo Arts Presents Pirates of Penzance, Jr.
MoCo Arts will be performing “Pirates of Penzance, Jr.”, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert, at the Marlborough Community House on Main Street in Downtown Marlborough. The show is great family entertainment and is appropriate for all ages.
The show features over 50 performers ages 12 through 18. The performances will take place at 7 pm on Thursday May 15th, 7 pm on Friday, May 16th, and 1 pm on Saturday, May 17th. The ticket cost is $10 for students and seniors, $15 for adults. The show’s production staff is: Director, Marty Hennum; Musical Director, JoJo Mead; Choreographer, Paula Aarons; Costume Designer, Jessica Sheehan; and Technical Director, Alex Trombley.
Wacky, irreverent, and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, “Pirates of Penzance, Jr.” spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.
Currently celebrating its 16th year, MoCo Arts is a non-profit organization and is the only multi-arts organization in southwestern NH. MoCo Arts is recognized for its community collaborations and quality arts and fitness education.
